A Moment In Thyme

I urge you to sip Seven Seals Port Wood finish whisky neat first, to fully appreciate the highly aromatic nose and intense character of this dynamic expression. Then make this blackberry thyme riff on a traditional Whisky Sour.

A Moment in Thyme

Course Cocktails
Servings 1

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Nick and Nora or Coupe Glass

Ingredients
  

  • 2 oz Seven Seals Port Wood Finish Single Malt Whisky
  • 1 oz Elderflower Liqueur
  • 1 oz Lemon Juice
  • 1 Medium Egg White you can substitute Aquafaba for a vegan option (canned chickpea water)
  • Lemon twist for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and dry shake for 10 seconds.
  • Add ice to shaker, and shake ingredients again till well chilled.
  • Pour into a coupe or Nick and Nora glass, and garnish.

Blackberry Thyme Syrup

Course Syrups and Garnishes

Ingredients
  

  • 6 oz Blackberries
  • 3-4 sprigs Fresh Thyme
  • 1.5 cup Water
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • ½ tsp Salt

Instructions
 

  • Place all ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium high heat.
  • Reduce to a low simmer for 20 minutes.
  • Using a fine mesh strainer, pour liquid into an airtight container.
  • Bring to room temperature or chill, for use in cocktails.
  • Store in the refrigerator.
