Louisville’s Brown-Forman Corporation announced this week it will operate its own distribution system for its spirits brands in Japan. Brown-Forman has served the Japanese market since 1970 through an outsourced distribution system.

One of the largest spirits companies in the country, Brown-Forman brands include Jack Daniel’s, Woodford Reserve, Old Forester, Cooper’s Craft, and GlenDronach, Benriach, and Glenglassaugh single-malt Scotches.

The Louisville-based spirits company noted that it is already directly selling its brands “in key global markets, including Taiwan, Thailand, and South Korea in the Asian region.”

“This strategic move allows us to introduce our brands to consumers with an even greater focus and prioritization. We see great opportunity in Japan given the strength of our portfolio which also includes The GlenDronach, Benriach, and Glenglassaugh, our award-winning Single Malt Scotches.”
