Named 2023 Worldwide Whiskey Producer of the Year by IWSC
We don’t normally cover a lot of the awards given in the world of whiskey, but this one stood out to us. Less than 10 years ago, the Bardstown Bourbon Company facility was a 100-acre cornfield in central Kentucky. Recently, Bardstown Bourbon Company was named 2023 Worldwide Whiskey Producer of the Year by International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC).
Our friends at Bardstown Bourbon Company have come a long way in a short time. The distillery is now one of the largest in the country. It makes its own line of products including Origin, Discovery, and Collaborative series. In addition, the company custom distills more than 50 different mashbills for customers like Blue Run, Belle Meade, Jefferson’s, and others.
“When we opened our doors, we were humbled by the response and the need we fulfilled in the industry, said Mark Erwin, Bardstown Bourbon Company President and CEO. “We are passionate about honoring the tradition of whiskey making while pushing the boundaries of innovation. At Bardstown Bourbon Co. we are committed to exploring what’s possible in bourbon both in producing award-winning whiskies of our own and helping partners achieve their unique needs.”
We recently spent some time with Bardstown Bourbon Company Master Distiller Steve Nally. Watch for our interview with Steve, which will be available in November.
Congratulations to the Bardstown Bourbon Company team. Well done!
