Rare whiskey raffles raise almost $72,000 for kids to go to camp
The recent rafflle of Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon and 11 other packages of collectible whiskies raised nearly $72,000 for The Center for Courageous Kids (CCK) in Scottsville, Kentucky. CCK is a place where kids from Kentucky and around the world with chronic illnesses and other medical diagnoses can go to camp for free.
A serious whiskey collector donated the 12 different packages to CCK, a non-profit medical camp. Nearly 500 tickets were sold.
The raffle winners were announced at the CCK’s annual fundraising event called “Stars & 6 Strings.”
“Thanks to everyone who purchased tickets to win12 different ‘instant bourbon collections.' The money raised will help our special kids have a life-changing experience at one of our camps. This money will provide inclusive and accessible camp opportunities for kids and their families – all at no charge to them.”

About The Center for Courageous Kids
Recreational camping for children is reimagined at The Center for Courageous Kids (CCK) in Scottsville, Kentucky. CCK is a medical camp for children living with chronic illnesses and medical diagnosis and offers fully accessible and inclusive experiences for kids and families. Children attend CCK independently during the summer seasons, and then come along with their family during our diagnosis specific weekend retreats, all free of charge. To date, CCK has served over 40,000 campers, with over 100 different diagnoses, from 45 different states and 13 countries.
For many children, participating in camping activities is not possible due to medical factors or design barriers. However, with a variety of traditional and modern camp programming, all campers can gather together, grow their independence, try new things, and make great friends at CCK. The joy of camp becomes a reality for every child at The Center for Courageous Kids! To learn more, visit our website: www.courageouskids.org
