Buzzard’s Roost Sipping Whiskey rolled out the barrel to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Prohibition Repeal Day on Tuesday. The festive event included a “second line” of musicians from the Louisville Orchestra. The jazz quartet later played for revelers sampling the new single-barrel Founder’s Select Bourbon at the Buzzard’s Roost Whiskey Row Experience in downtown Louisville.
Buzzard’s Roost Sipping Whiskey co-founders Jason Brauner and Judy Hollis Jones led the procession about a block-and-a-half along Whiskey Row. Whiskey Network Magazine was on hand to sample the new six-year-old, high rye bourbon and enjoy the jazz music.
Buzzard’s Roost uses a secondary barrel maturation method with custom barrels that include a Char #1 treatment from International Stave Company for its blended bourbon and rye whiskies.
