Just as the swallows return to Capistrano, apparently buzzards are prone to instinctively flock together and return to Hinckley, Ohio. Who knew?
Our friends at Buzzard’s Roost Sipping Whiskey did. They are holding a celebration this Friday, March 15 from 4 to 7 p.m. to celebrate National Buzzards Day and their return to Hinckley.
The event is a fundraiser for Raptor Rescue of Kentucky Inc., (RROKI) a program which rescues and releases sick and injured birds of prey in the Commonwealth.
A $5 suggested donation will get you in the door, a complimentary cocktail, small bites “featuring the official foods of National Buzzards Day: pancakes and sausage,” and a meet-and-greet photo opportunity with a real buzzard. And you can bet your buzzard the cash bar will be open.
National Buzzard’s Day fans will gather at the Buzzard’s Roost Whiskey Row Experience at 624 W. Main Street in Louisville, Kentucky.
