Josh “The Warmster” Barnett (MMA Champion) appeared on the cover of our September 2023 issue. You can read the full interview with him here. Recently, we received word of a release party of Warbringer Bourbon Cask Strength Warmaster Edition – in Hollywood, CA. Of course, we wanted to be there to celebrate and support.
The Sassafras Saloon is just off Vine St. in the colorful heart of Hollywood. It’s a wonderful slice of New Orleans in the melting pot that is a well-known area of Los Angeles. Music and entertainment were provided by DJ Max Maxtofferson, Austin Vallejo, and Leroy From the North. Free burgers from Yellow Paper Burgers delighted the crowds out on the patio. At the bar, Warbringer Bourbon brought the cask strength heat with cocktails and neat offerings available.
On hand to personally talk about this release, Josh was available in the crowd and celebrating the moment. Recalling his interview, he is deeply involved in all aspects of the production of the whiskey. Josh never does anything halfway, and this whiskey has him all in. In support, his distilling team from Sespe Creek Distillery was also present at the party. It was an amazing evening to celebrate this great whiskey!
Warbringer Bourbon is not for the faint of heart. It’s smoked with mesquite and makes no apologies for being big, bold, and aggressive. The mesquite flavor is front and center, but there is an alluring sweetness that breaks through to round out the experience. Without a doubt, it packs a serious punch at cask strength, but it is a pleasant heat. It’s a perfect treat experienced neat or in your favorite whiskey cocktail.
