It’s the most wonderful time of the year in Kentucky … the run-up to the Kentucky Derby. One of the first signs of the season is the release of the 2024 commemorative Kentucky Derby bottle by Woodford Reserve. The distillery is the Presenting Sponsor of the Kentucky Derby.
This year will be extra special; it’s the 150th running of what has become known as “The most exciting two minutes in sports.” The Derby bottle this year shows off the artwork of Kentucky native Wylie Caudill, who is “known for his bold, repetitive patterns, and his signature roses,” according to Woodford Reserve.
The one-liter commemorative bottle has an SRP of $55 and should be available just about everywhere bourbon is sold.
“As a Kentucky native, I am honored to be a part of this milestone celebration,” Caudill said. “I have painted my signature roses many times over the years, but this one is truly special. The colorful roses symbolize the diverse Derby fans from around the world, connecting people beyond the track.”
“Wylie’s artwork embodies the spirit of Woodford Reserve, the liveliness of Churchill Downs during race day, and the heart of Kentucky, We’re thrilled to have a Kentuckian’s artwork on our bottle during this monumental year.”

But wait, didn’t we report last week that Evan Williams has a Derby bottle too? Yes, sort of. The Evan Williams Experience on Whiskey Row is offering the Kentucky Derby Festival (KBF) commemorative bottle. The KBF is the two weeks of activities that precede the actual race each year.
