President’s Choice Old Forester for Dad

Here’s an idea: get some Old Fo for your Old Dad for Father’s Day. (Note, this is not to be confused with Old Grand Dad Bourbon. That’s something else entirely). But you might need some Old Money to make the purchase.

Old Forester is offering it largest (and most unexpected) release of President’s Choice Bourbon, what the distillery calls “its most coveted and rarest expression.” Bottles are on sale at the downtown Louisville distillery and online.

President’s Choice gets it name from the time in 1964 when then-Brown-Forman President George Garvin offered the first private single barrel offerings to customers.

Age: 7 to 12 years old.

Proof range: 105 to 120.

SRP: $225

Tasting notes (from the distillery): “The limited release comes from single barrels each with unique flavor profiles.”

“President’s Choice is our most sought-after product – and most people never get the chance to buy a bottle. We’re excited to announce this special President’s Choice release just in time for Father’s Day.”

"Whisky is liquid sunshine."

George Bernard Shaw

“The light music of whiskey falling into a glass – an agreeable interlude.”

James Joyce
