There’s always something new to do on Whiskey Row in downtown Louisville. Our friends at Buzzard’s Roost have created three new experiences at the distillery and tasting room for visitors to enjoy.

New Experiences at Buzzard's Roost

Bros, Brides and Bourbon

This 90-minute experience was created for bachelor and bachelorette parties seeking private group experiences that offer both fun and facts. Groups of up to 12 will gain entry to the exclusive Buzzard’s Roost Speakeasy, where they’ll be treated to bottle service and hands-on craft cocktail instruction from a pro. Feb. 21. Prices range from $150 to $200 depending on group size.

Straight from the Barrel

This experience starts with a tasting of two Buzzard’s Roost double-oaked single-barrel whiskeys (a bourbon and a rye) and after picking their favorite, guests will visit the Buzzard’s Roost still room (home of the famous Buzz Cauldron Vendome pot still) where they’ll fill their own bottle straight from the barrel with a whiskey thief. Guests will create their own labels and take home a bespoke bottle. Price is $100 per person, and $20 for additional guests who just want to taste. Starts March 14.

“Whiskey Row Revealed” Speaker Series

Director of Whiskey Education and author Susan Reigler will share stories of the people and the stories behind history of Whiskey Row during this monthly series of talks, inspired by the historic markers on Whiskey Row.

The series begins on March 22 when guests will learn about America’s First Cocktail Party and the story of Lexington-born hostess and socialite Clara Bell Walsh. In April, the topic will be Horses and Bourbon. The full schedule can be seen online here. Price is $25 per person and includes a craft cocktail or special pour.

In addition, Buzzard’s Roost has curated an exclusive experience for visitors who book through the KYHug.com tourism site. “The Buzz About Bourbon” includes the story of how bourbon was born and raised in Kentucky and why it’s such a deep and important part of the culture and lifestyle of Kentucky. Guests will taste through a selection of Buzzard’s Roost whiskeys that show the evolution of bourbon and rye. Price is $32 per person.

About Buzzard's Roost Sipping Whiskey

(From the distillery) Buzzard’s Roost Sipping Whiskeys started in 2022 and is an independent distiller, blender and bottler of exceptional whiskies crafted using pioneering techniques. Buzzard’s Roost whiskeys stand out for their exceptional flavors, which are created using a break-through approach to secondary maturation including 18-month-seasoned oak barrels for intensified flavors, and exclusive use of Char #1 over very specific toast levels designed to coax complex flavors from each barrel, leading to bourbon and rye whiskeys that taste like no other. Buzzard’s Roost Sipping Whiskeys are available in 26 markets U.S. and Alberta, Canada, and online and at the Buzzard’s Roost Distillery and Tasting Room at 624 W. Main Street in downtown Louisville.
