Amor Mascotas

Friends familiar with Dia de Muertos already know that the first day celebrated is October 27th, para los Mascotas when we welcome home our beloved pets that have crossed over the rainbow bridge. It’s our pets that will guide the way for the all of human souls that return to visit us over the next several evenings. Even in the afterlife, our pets are constant faithful companions. To celebrate, prepare an altar with photos of your beloved pets, their favorite toys and treats, candles to light their way home, and colorful flowers to welcome them. It’s a beautiful tradition, and such a lovely way to remember our best friends.

Now for the perfect cocktail to offer during Dia de Muertos, I reached for the Texas distilled Waterloo Prickly Pear and Rose Gin. A delicate balance of prickly pear and rose, combined with a homemade marigold syrup, finished with lime juice and jalapeños. Amor Mascotas includes many of the necessary ofrenda components to guide your friends and family home to you. And doesn’t everyone like to be welcomed with a cocktail in hand? Bienvenidos!
