Mint Julep Month Comes to Louisville

The gravitational pull of the first Saturday in May is kicking in with gusto. (That’s when the Kentucky Derby takes place each year, for you non-locals.)

Bourbon lovers take note, Mint Julep Month is about to begin on April 1 in Louisville. Mint Juleps, of course, have been an integral part of the “Greatest Two Minutes in Sports” for most of its 151-year history.

A month-long celebration of special events and promotions tied to the sweet bourbon cocktail is about to happen for the 13th time. If you check in on the mobile app at various events, you can claim points that are redeemable for prizes “like Mint Julep stickers, limited-edition T-shirt or even leather mint julep recipe coasters,” according to the Louivislle Visitor Center, the event’s sponsor. Six Mint Julep visits will get you entered for a grand prize package. Go to www.mintjulepmonth.com for more information.

Here are just a few of the events celebrating Bourbon City’s favorite springtime sipper:

Louisville Distillery Exclusive Mint Juleps | Area Distilleries
Distilleries are a great way to sample your favorite Bourbon brands in hand-crafted, specialty cocktails – right on-site where the spirits are created.
