“Toasted, not charred.”
Perhaps this phrase might catch on if James Bond starts drinking whiskey instead of martinis.

A nose brimming with toffee, honey, black walnut and a hint of campfire gives way to a decadent taste experience featuring dark chocolate, salted caramel, cherry and mint with pronounced spice balanced by rounded oak on the finish.
There are lots of variables and variations in the world today when it comes to finishing whiskey. Michter’s Distillery is about to bring out a new version of something it pioneered almost a decade ago: US*1 Toasted Barrel Finish Rye.
Michter’s takes a barrel of fully matured rye and lets it spend time in a second barrel that spent two years seasoning outdoors and then was (wait for it) toasted, not charred.
“The Toasted Barrel Finish Rye is designed to showcase the beautiful extractives from a toasted-only finish barrel that impart remarkable character and contribute to an exceptional experience,” said Andrea Wilson, Michter’s Master of Maturation.
