Greetings Whiskey Network readers! On this day (March 1st) four years ago, this great publication was born. We had a vision to develop something that not only focused on whiskey, but included all lifestyle topics that relate to whiskey. Just recently, in the summer of 2023, we began a journey of transformation. A primary part of this was to migrate to a new online platform and we believe that this makes the reading experience much more enjoyable. It will also provide us with a greater reach in the world whiskey community. The overall concept of a whiskey lifestyle magazine remains intact. We are constantly working on improving the platform and style of the magazine.
I’d like to take a moment and thank all of our editorial and technical staff for an exceptional job during this transformation. Special thanks to Mindy Schwartz, aka Bonnie Parker, our previous Editor-In-Chief. Mindy managed to wrestle with rebirthing the magazine in our previous format every month. She kept us up and running with dogged determination!

Next, special thanks to our current Editor-In-Chief, Mark Pruett! Mark has taken the new format and molded it into a publication to rival our competition. Mark has the same dogged determination as his predecessor.
Additional special thanks go out to our web designer/webmaster Genevieve Keller because she rescued us when we had started the switch and lost our original web designer. She has put in countless hours to get us to our current state. I appreciate her devotion to our success immensely!
Rounding out the editorial team, special thanks go out to Col. Brian G. Miller. As of this writing, Brian is the Editor of our weekly newsletter, “The Barrel Report.” Brian has developed this email publication into something I never thought possible. He not only publishes our weekly updates but acts as our resident spelling and grammar expert and writes his own feature stories as “The Bourbon Tutor.”
I want to thank our software engineer, Sunish Vengathattil, for his assistance in developing this site. Follow our escapades on our Facebook group WBSE, (Whiskey Bourbon Scotch Enthusiasts®) Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube as we grow even bigger in the whiskey world.
I’d also like to extend my appreciation to our Social Media Coordinator, Trinity Ables, for all her social media efforts making our publication more visible. We hope you like what we have done! To date we have more than doubled our subscribers and continue growing.
Finally, a huge debt of gratitude goes out to all of our writers/contributors, without whom we wouldn’t have a publication. Our writing staff has expanded exponentially over the last year and each writer is excellent in their own right. Over the last year, we have featured lots of great content, including cocktail recipes, food recipes, cigar and whiskey reviews, along with some exciting interviews and virtual tastings.
We have had a great year with celebrity interviews and new cover features. In addition to the magazine subscription, we hope you are enjoying our weekly newsletter, “The Barrel Report.” On top of all that content, we have launched our own online whiskey store “WBSE’S RICKHOUSE” (wbserickhouse.com). We personally curate and offer some exceptional cask strength whiskeys. We have also added a Daily Drams section of many standard whiskey brands for your direct-to-consumer shopping experience. All are available with flat rate shipping to our members in all but a few states. Our goal is to become your “Online Whiskey Source!” A percentage of our proceeds are proudly donated to Tunnels to Towers.
