Thousands of aficionados gathered at the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square for WhiskyFest New York 2025, hosted by Whisky Advocate magazine. The event, held on Friday, November 14, 2025, was an unforgettable night of exploration, featuring a vast selection of over 200 premium spirits from around the globe.
Guests explored a wide variety of offerings, including Scotch, Irish Whiskey, Bourbon, Rye, Japanese and Canadian whiskies, craft-distilled spirits, an assortment of fantastic tequilas, cocktails, and delicious cigars. A noted highlight of the evening was a particular expression, 30-year-old Laphroaig that was my personal favorite pour of the evening.
This year introduced Premium Access, allowing all ticket holders to simultaneously enter at 6:30 PM. This fostered a shared sense of excitement and community, bringing together individuals from various backgrounds to enjoy the experience together.
Attendees had the opportunity to meet many of the experts behind the brands, who were on hand to discuss their products. A gourmet buffet was available throughout the event space, including a main area at the rear, casual stations near the entrance on the right with seating, and additional offerings among the aisles. The culinary experience complemented the evening, concluding when the flickering lights signaled the end of the night.
The event continues to evolve, drawing parallels to a successful and most enjoyable event held in Tampa last year. Events like these gather people who appreciate shared interests, whether it’s spirits, cigars, food, or coffee, creating an atmosphere where attendees can connect and share their experiences.
Until next year, I share the following toast:
To old friends,
To new friends,
To the friends made by sharing experiences.
CHEERS,
Mike
