Mother of Dragons

Ever wonder what to do with Dragon Fruit besides just blending it up in a smoothie? With the combination of dramatic, deep fuchsia hues, and a punchy sweet flavor, I do believe this cocktail could conquer an Empire.

Mother of Dragons

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Fine Mesh Strainer
  • Hawthorne Strainer

Ingredients
  

  • 2 oz Empress Cucumber Lemon Gin
  • 1 oz Cucumber Water
  • 0.5 oz Dragon Fruit Shrub
  • 0.5 oz Lemon Juice
  • 0.5 oz Agave Nectar
  • 2 drops Saline (4:1, water to salt)
  • Club Soda
  • Lemon Slices or Twist

Instructions
 

  • Add all ingredients to cocktail shaker
  • Add ice to cocktail shaker and shake until well chilled
  • Strain cocktail into a Copa glass over fresh ice
  • Top with a splash of club soda
  • Express lemon oils over the top, and slide along rim
  • Garnish with lemon slices or twist

Dragon Fruit Shrub

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Ripe Fresh Red Dragon Fruit, Cubed, or Frozen (thawed)
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 0.5 cup White Wine Vinegar

Instructions
 

  • In an airtight container, mash together dragon fruit and Sugar
  • Cover and place in the refrigerator for 3 days, stirring daily to incorporate sugar
  • Add vinegar, stirring to incorporate
  • Fine mesh strain into an airtight container, and store in the refrigerator

Cucumber Water

Ingredients
  

  • 0.5 cup Cucumber (Peel removed)
  • 0.5 cup Water

Instructions
 

  • Add peeled cucumber and water to a blender, blend till smooth
  • Fine mesh strain into an airtight container, and store in the refrigerator
