All of the hustle and bustle, the shopping, the cooking and baking, the celebrating, the stuffing your face with your traditional meals, finally culminating with the opening of presents!
An audible sigh, the sound of relief that you made it through another busy season, while looking around at the carnage that is your kitchen, family room, guest rooms, bathrooms and every nook and cranny that you stuffed your “mess” into. You have lots of leftovers, gifts of Bourbon, unconsumed eggnog, candy canes tossed about, and you need to relax with a cocktail, bad!

Equipment
- Glass measuring cup
- Microwave
- Jigger
- Cocktail shaker
- Hawthorne Strainer
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz Bourbon
- 0.5 oz Candy Cane Syrup
- 2 oz Eggnog
- Mini candy cane or peppermint for garnish
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker
- Add ice and shake until well chilled
- Strain cocktail into a rocks glass over fresh ice
- Garnish with a mini candy cane or peppermint
Candy Cane Syrup
Ingredients
- 1 oz Candy Cane or Peppermints, smashed
- 4 oz Water
Instructions
- Add water to a glass measuring cup
- Add smashed candy cane or peppermints to the water
- Microwave on high for 2 minutes
- Stir to dissolve
- Store in refrigerator in an air tight container
