Do you happen to have a productive lemon tree in your yard? Or maybe a friend/neighbor with lots of lemons to giveaway? Are you looking for a new way to consume all of those beautiful lemons? Well, you can make Limoncello at home, and it’s so easy!
Limoncello is made with lemon zest, clear neutral alcohol, and sugar. You can chill it and sip it neat, or make this refreshing spritzer. I like to add a little honey and vanilla to my Limoncello, especially when the lemons are store bought, or not perfectly ripe. Homemade Limoncello also makes a great gift. Keep some for yourself, and share the rest.

I like to use a higher proof spirit to extract more of the lemon essence. I typically use half Vodka (80 proof), and half Everclear 120 proof). Be sure to squeeze the zested lemons for fresh juice to use in your cocktails.
